Dylanglen Connemara Stud

About Dylanglen Stud

Dylanglen was established in 1980 as a Pinto Stud. It wasn't until 1984 that they moved into Connemara Ponies.

Our first purchases were Lugano Queen of the Fairies as a filly from Kath & Ossie Bahr at Henty, followed by Green Hills Go-Go Gal from Kit Boyd in Victoria. Connemaras have been with us ever since. We had a hiatus from the breeding side but never from the competing/riding. Our aim when we started is the same as now: TO BREED QUIET QUALITY PONIES. No other breed for us comes close to the above aim as the CONNEMARA PONY.

The Connemara overall is an unbelievably quiet trustworthy pony. Because of its size range (up to 14.2h) even adults can not only ride but compete on them. As a competition pony it is unsurpassed. Overseas they are renowned for their abilities in all areas. They can be mixed & matched with any other breed for the desired mount as well e.g. arab x (endurance), Tb/WB (dressage/eventing, Quarterhorse (mounted games), Welsh/APSB (smaller children.) And with the climate the way it is a Connemara is a DROUGHT PROOF PONY.

They do not need to be ridden every day/week, absolutely suitable for the week-end rider, the person who works during the week and the student who has studies.

Charles Sturt Uni. Wagga Wagga uses them for their veterinary students because of all of the above.
